Mini photovoltaic system: Exploring the easiest way to generate electricity
Since it is difficult to install a large solar panel on your roof, but you still want to generate your own electricity, consider installing a small photovoltaic system. In order for everyone to play the role of energy provider, the registration process for PV systems and other small PV systems will be simplified from 2019. To set up a mini pv anlagen, all you need are a few PV modules on a sunny surface such as a balcony, garden, flat roof or sunny facade, an inverter and a power outlet.

The easiest way to generate your own electricity is to have a small photovoltaic system.

Solar panel outlets are useful and popular.
What used to be called guerrilla warfare is now perfectly legitimate. Some of the newer names for these easy-to-install microsystems include:
- plug-in solar panels,
- plug-in solar systems, and
- balcony panels.
These small, inexpensive systems can produce electricity for up to a year. Read more about the features of micro solar systems and what to look for when buying below.
Installation and operation instructions for micro photovoltaic systems
Parallel operation of power generation systems with other energy sources (including the grid) is clearly described in the European standard HD 60364-5-551:2010. In this case, the use of „plugs and sockets“ for connection to the „back-end circuit“ is explicitly prohibited. Small PV systems must operate safely without sacrificing convenience, so the national compromise reached here is very important.
Can I plug and unplug the device?
Instead of feeding the generated electricity into the public grid, as is the case with power plants, small PV systems feed the electricity directly into the household grid via a cable connection. You can therefore use a mini system plug to disconnect the power. You can also use a normal grounding plug, but we recommend using a special power supply. These models last longer and are less prone to overloads and overheating than earlier models.
Balcony wiring can be a valuable addition.
One or two PV modules can be placed on a balcony, on the outside wall of a house, on a patio, in a garden, garage, or shed, and connected directly to an appropriate outlet in the house or apartment, creating a small „balcony power plant.“ This small system, like the „big“ solar system on the roof, converts sunlight into electricity and delivers it to your home. No matter what appliances you have at home, use „your electricity“ before drawing it from the grid. With two 600-watt projects, you can generate up to 540 kWh of electricity per year.
